Heat your home the environmentally-friendly way
A growing number of consumers want to make a contribution to environmental and climate protection, also within the context of their energy consumption. For some time now, this has been possible with the use of "green electricity" and also "green heating". TÜV NORD CERT offers suppliers of district and long-distance heating - in particular municipal energy supply companies - a certification and test mark which makes environmental friendliness visible to consumers. Certified companies can then communicate their commitment to responsible use of resources, and this in turn opens up new groups of customers.
Conventional heating is allowed in the network
With the certification, TÜV NORD CERT confirms that the heat which is fed into the long-distance or district heating network is generated from renewable energies in a way which is kind to the environment. In order to achieve this, the thermal balances of the supplier are reviewed in accordance with TÜV NORD Climate Change Standard TN-CC 011. Through precise balancing of the input and output volumes, it is ensured that the heat fed in from renewable energy sources at least corresponds to that supplied from conventional energy sources, if the network serves both.
Making the best of new market opportunities
In the same way as green electricity, green heating offers enormous potential for the reduction of greenhouse gases; this opens up the market to products which can clearly be seen to be environmentally friendly. With TÜV NORD CERT, the only organisation offering certification of green heating, suppliers can make use of these opportunities and gain an economic advantage. The TÜV test mark clearly demonstrates that the product portfolio of the supplier has been extended to include green heating.
